Divers at all levels benefit from our camps which are designed to provide intense training over a 3 or 4 day schedule with 5 hours of workout each day.
Lessons are offered monthly for beginning divers of all ages leading to the Novice Program. Our lessons are divided into four groups based on skill: BRONZE (beginner), SILVER (intermediate), GOLD (advanced), and CHAMPS (pre-team). We follow the US Diving sanctioned lesson program, and we work with a skills checklist at each level to insure foundational elements have been covered and successfully demonstrated before moving a diver to the next level. Our program is designed to run monthly, in 3- or 4-week sessions.
Novice diving competition has been developed to allow new and less experienced divers an opportunity to compete with other divers at their ability level and to allow a diver to start competing at any age-level group: 9 and under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, or 16-18. Novice diving is designed to develop interest and stimulate improvement in the sport of diving. The Novice events are offered at Association and Invitational meets.
The Junior Olympic team is comprised of divers in their age groups who have a minimum of two junior-level dive lists on 1m, 3m or platform. Requirements for these age groups, for the Association, Regional, Zone and Junior National Championships are located in "The United States Diving Rules and Regulations", published by United States Diving, Inc. The Junior Team trains 5 days per week, 2 hours per day.
The National team consists primarily of athletes who have qualified for the Junior National Championships. Exceptions are allowed for those divers who have met the criteria established by the coaching staff. Solely the coaching staff determines membership on this team. The Junior National Team trains 6 days per week (2 1/2 hours each).
The Senior Program is for those divers over 18 who are competing at the national level. The senior program is complete with extensive dry-land training, port-a-pit, trampoline spotting, calisthenics, plyometrics, and weight training programs.
The Masters Program is for those adult divers interested in competing in the US Masters Diving program. Practice schedule is flexible to accommodate our working divers. All divers must be registered athletes with US Diving.
The diving pool is available for rent to registered divers and to other diving teams. Times and availability are at the discretion of the MVND staff.
