WELCOME TO HIGH
SCHOOL DIVING
The information here is to assist divers, coaches and parents with the High School Diving Program.
High
School diving is structured under the NATIONAL FOUNDATION
OF STATE HIGH SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION
Their published rule book is the document
that governs the rules and DD's applied to High School Diving
Due to
the complexity of the NFHS 11 dive rules, a HS DIVE VERIFIER
PROGRAM has been created to help divers determine that the diving list they
submit for competition meets the NFHS rules and contains the correct list of allowable
dives for both NFHS and NISCA ALL AMERICAN programs to avoid disqualification
from the contests.
NOTES:
1. California Southern Section CIF Diving
allows 3 meter competition for invitational and championships contests. Reminder...All
American Competition is only 1 meter.
2. DD's for High School diving are now
the same as for FINA and USA Diving. This only represents a 2004-05 change in
position for dives 5121, 5131 and 5421 which were previously allowed in B&C
position but based on the FINA chart (now adopted by NFHS, NCAA, USA DIVING and
FINA) are now only allowed in D position.
This site was originally created to serve as a source of information for divers who dive independently from school structured diving programs. If you have questions, comments, or additional information, please contact: chris@digitalinsights.com
